A new Greek restaurant called Kouzina Authentic Greek Restaurant is poised to open in Georgetown soon. A liquor license placard on a building front on 3234 Prospect Street, NW shows a notice saying that a restaurant that will offer Greek dishes will be coming soon and that it will have a 50-seat capacity for a summer garden patio. No opening date available yet, however.

Donald Trump and his hotel group has found a replacement restaurant to occupy his soon to open Washington, D.C., hotel. Months after prominent chef and restaurateurs Jose Andres and Geoffrey Zakarian backed out of their agreements to open restaurants at Trump International Hotel, the Trump Organization announced the partnership with ESquared Hospitality group to open one of their signature restaurants, BLT Prime.

The restaurant will be small, just a 50-seat table indoors with another 25 sidewalk patio in Maryland’s Mount Rainier. This Southern-themed eatery is called Bird Kitchen & Cocktails, and will be just one of the few full-service menu in the area. Led by chef Lenny Robinson, it will have chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits, house-made pastrami and gravlax, and biscuits on its menu.

The decor is retro but comfortable, the menu is made up of dishes that familiar, and the ambiance is somewhat casual, which is unusual considering it’s located inside a boutique hotel in Dupont Circle.
